Novena for the Repose of His Holiness (Day 6)
Merciful and loving God, We come before You with hearts full of gratitude and sorrow as we remember Your servant, Pope Francis. You called him to be a shepherd to Your people, a voice for the poor, and a sign of Your mercy to the world. As we entrust him to Your eternal care, we ask You to welcome him into the joy of Your heavenly kingdom. Grant him peace, and give us strength to carry forward the light of his witness. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
Apostle of Mercy: We remember his invitation to offer forgiveness and seek healing. May we strive to live as instruments of reconciliation and grace.
Our Father… Hail Mary… Glory Be…
Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, And let perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul, and the souls of all the faithful departed, Through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.

The grande finale for our Lenten Fundraiser will take place on Tuesday, April 29th, from 4pm -6. Please join us for an evening of amazing music, warm coffee and friendly faces. Assumption's "Coffee House Open Mic Night" will be featuring our very own, very talented, student alumnus; Reegan Dehid!
We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Sheyna Badger, Lakeland Catholic’s Indigenous Outreach Worker, for teaching and demonstrating the sacred practice of Smudging in Culture Club this week. Smudging is a deeply rooted ceremony in many First Nations cultures, used to spiritually purify and cleanse individuals or spaces through the burning of natural medicines such as sage, cedar, sweetgrass, and tobacco. This meaningful experience aligns with Alberta Education’s Teaching Quality Standard #5, which emphasizes applying foundational knowledge about First Nations, Métis, and Inuit for the benefit of all students. Thank you, Sheyna, for sharing your wisdom and helping us deepen our understanding and respect for Indigenous culture and traditions.

Defender of Creation: We remember his call to care for creation. May we take up the challenge of Laudato Si’ i (Pope Francis’ call to care for the environment in our daily lives).

Faithful Shepherd: We pray in thanksgiving for his years of ministry, that he may now receive the reward of his faithful service.
Servant of Peace: We reflect on his message of peace, dialogue, and fraternity among peoples. May we carry this legacy forward.

2026 SENIOR BAND TRIP

Gr. 9-11 Band Students and Parents:
There will be a very important information evening this Wednesday, April 23rd, to discuss the proposed 2026 Senior Band trip to Vancouver!
The meeting will begin at 6:00 p.m. in the band room.
This is a preliminary meeting to gauge student and parent interest. A Brightspark tour representative will join us to discuss the proposed itinerary, the approximate cost of the trip, and any other questions you may have.

Students in Mrs. Holba's class recreated different living quarters found on the Titanic.
They did a great job sharing their knowledge, with the admin team, upon a classroom visit.
Assumption School has surpassed the first two goals of raising $1500-$2500 for the local Stepping Stones Crisis Centre. There are still two fundraisers left before we conclude at the end of the month. On Friday, there will be Jumbo Freeze Pops for sale at noon for $1 each. Our grande finale will be an Open Mic Coffee House on Tuesday, April 29th, featuring our very own student alumnus; Reegan Dehid! Please join us for an evening of amazing music and a chance to give back to the community.

At Assumption Jr/Sr High School, Amanda Grievson led Science 8 students through a hands-on activity exploring the full process of the digestive system. It got a little messy, but students were fully engaged throughout. A memorable experience they won’t forget anytime soon!
