Today is Track & Field Districts at Walsh Field in Bonnyville. Good Luck Coyotes who qualified!

Last Friday was “H is for Hatchery Tour” day in Kindergarten and we all got to go to the Cold Lake Fish Hatchery to learn about the important conservation work they do there. Even though some of the students started the tour not wanting to touch the fish, by the end of the hour students were holding and petting the fish, some even being so brave as to kiss the fish! It was a wonderful time - thank you Cold Lake Fish Hatchery for hosting us!

For “G is for Game Day” KEM went to the park and learned how to play Chain Tag. The kiddos had a great time chasing each other and trying to form the longest chains, unfortunately Mrs. MacNiven was having too much fun and forgot to get pictures of it. We sat in the shade and drank lots of water because it was so hot before we had a bit of free play time on the play structure.

Today was Jump Day! Thank you to everyone who donated to Jump Rope for Heart! Our two students to raise the most were Phoebe and Kadence! ❤️ Students were asked to dress like superheros today as well.

Tomorrow is Jump Day for Jump Rope for Heart!
Dress like a Super Hero day!

KIF went to the Cold Lake Fish Hatchery! 🐟

On Wednesday it was Fairy Tale Day in Mrs. Mac’s room and they had Pinnochio, Cinderella, a fairy, Snow White, Prince Charming, and Peter Pan join their class (as well as the Paper Bag Princess’ dragon). It was a magical day!

Today is World Catholic Education Day!
Lakeland Catholic celebrates the sacred mission of Catholic education - where faith is lived, truth is boldly upheld, and Christ is the centre of all we do.
We give thanks for the gift of publicly funded Catholic education, where students are formed in mind, body, and spirit.
Lakeland Catholic prays for all students, staff, families, and leaders who witness the Gospel each day through teaching, learning, and service.
May the Holy Spirit continue to guide our schools in wisdom, grace, and truth.

On E is for Eco Explorers Day students planted some sunflowers of their own and then decided during play time to plant their own garden by transplanting plantains they found on the playground.

"D" is for Dinos
On Monday, Mrs. Mac’s Kinders explored dinosaurs. We read dinosaur books, we learned dinosaur facts, and we played with dinosaur centres. Students drew, stamped, uncovered and played with dinosaurs all day!

Grade Ones Explore Community Spirit in Cold Lake-May 22nd
On Thursday, our Grade One students took part in an exciting field trip. Welcomed by the City of Cold Lake, they learned firsthand how people work together to build and support a thriving community.

On May 2nd our Coyotes competed in Battle of the Books. We are incredibly proud of our Battle of the Books participants! Over the past six months, these dedicated readers tackled dozens of books and represented our school with enthusiasm and determination as they competed against teams from across the Cold Lake area. Well done!

This Thursday, May 29, we invite all school communities to wear blue in honour of World Catholic Education Day and in devotion to Mary, Mother of God.
In the Catholic tradition, blue symbolizes piety, sincerity, and the faithful motherhood of Mary.
As Catholic educators, we look to Mary as our model - gentle in love, bold in faith, and devoted to her Son, our saviour, Jesus Christ.
