School Council

What are School Councils?

School councils are structured groups of parents, principals, teachers, secondary students, and community representatives who work together to effectively support and enhance student learning. They provide a method for members of the school community to consult with and offer advice to the principals and the school board.

Established school councils:

  1. Focus on what is best for all students in the school

  2. Consider the interest of all school stakeholders

  3. Develop, maintain and reflect on the culture of the school

  4. Represent the parent voice in the school community
