These students discovered bowling was right up their alley 🎳 On February 9, EALL students from École Notre Dame High and Assumption Jr/Sr HIgh School left no pin standing. Almost 50 students were bussed to King Pins Bowling in Bonnyville for a day of socializing and mental wellness. The field trip was partially funded through the LCSD Mental Health Matters Campaign as a reminder that socializing, being active, and trying new things are all connected to mental wellness. #LCSDJoy

Mental Health Matters at NDHS! Students spent Thursday afternoon learning about various mental wellness activities and strategies as part of the school's Mental Health Matters Campaign! The Alberta Innovates High School Youth Researcher Summer Program (HYRS) offers paid, six-week summer research experiences for Grade 11 students in health and medical sciences, including priority areas in digital or data-driven health research, commercialization, and health system transformation. In addition to gaining first-hand research experience, HYRS students also participate in a range of skill development and career exploration activities. This program is ideal for students who have an interest in science and health and are looking to explore careers in health research and innovation. The HYRS program at the University of Alberta is currently accepting applications from Grade 11 students who reside in central or northern Alberta (in or north of Red Deer), for our summer 2024 program, which is scheduled to take place (in-person) July 3 - August 14, 2024.
